It's independent. It is not affiliated with any tour operator, tourism board, attraction or government, and none of them pays to appear here or sees what we write first.
What makes it different
Every tour we rank carries a Night Score out of 10, and the formula is published. You can see why a $20 (€17.90) walk beats a $77 (€68) food night, or the other way round. The editors' part of the score is a single question, how much the night is the point, answered on one scale for every tour on the site. And the city and sight pages give a verdict. Some say skip the tour and go on your own, because sometimes that's the honest answer. The method page gives every weight, so you can disagree with one and still use the numbers.
How the site earns money
