Berlin doesn't do night tours the way Prague does. There's no Old Town full of lantern-carrying ghost guides, and the one ghost tour that cleared our bar is in German.
What Berlin has is a night that starts late and runs very late. So the best tours here are the ones that walk you into it: a pub crawl that ends at a club, an evening walk through Kreuzberg's backstreets, a food walk around Südstern. Then there's the water. Four of the eight tours on this page are on the Spree or the Landwehr Canal, and most of them are timed to sunset rather than to dark.
And the best view of Berlin lit up at night? It's free. You book the Reichstag dome with the Bundestag itself, not with any tour company.
No night bus tour made the list. They all rated below 4.4.

The 8 best night tours in Berlin, ranked
Every tour we scored in Berlin that cleared our bar (rated 4.4 or more from 50+ reviews), in Night Score order. Night Score = 30% rating, 10% review count, 20% price per hour, 40% how much the night is the point. How we score
The crawl wins on value. It's $26 (€23) today, on sale from $53 (€47), for up to six hours, with shots and skip-the-line club entry at the end. That price plus a 4.7 rating from 1,112 reviews puts it top. If the sale ends, it'll drop. Original Tours runs it in English. Food, extra drinks and getting home are on you. It's 18+ with photo ID, and the meeting point depends on the option you book, so read the voucher. Not a sightseeing tour. A way into Berlin's bars when you don't know which door to try.

What it is: Original Tours runs an English-language guided crawl through several bars with free shots, ending with skip-the-line entry to a club.
Good to know: $26 is a sale price (was $53). Shots and club entry included; food, extra drinks and transport are not. 18+ with photo ID; the meeting point depends on the option booked.
After dark: Berlin's bar and club scene barely exists before late evening; this is the guided way into it.

The best actual tour in Berlin after dark. Two hours through Kreuzberg's backstreets and subcultures, starting in front of Casino 36 next to Kottbusser Tor U-Bahn and ending at Bevernstrasse 6. It's $26 (€23), rated 4.7 from 628 reviews, so it scores almost level with the crawl. The guide is all you get: no food, no drinks. Which is fine. You'll finish in a district full of both. Kreuzberg's street life is the subject, and it doesn't really show up until evening.

After dark: Kreuzberg's street life, bars and late-night food are the subject, and they only really show up in the evening.

Two hours paddling a tandem kayak down the Landwehr Canal as the light goes and the canal-side bars fill up, after 30 minutes of instruction. It's $33 (€29) with kayak, paddle and life vest, and rated 4.7 from 339 reviews. It's third because it's a dusk trip, not a dark one. Start times follow sunset, so they move by hours between June and the autumn. Meet at the Blue Kayak Truck beside Carl-Herz-Ufer 9, 300 m from Prinzenstrasse. Not for under-7s or non-swimmers, and you may be asked to help carry the boats.

German only. If you don't speak it, skip to the next card. If you do, Mysterium Tremendum's costumed guide walks about 1.5 km of old central Berlin in 90 minutes, starting at the ruined Franciscan monastery church at Klosterstrasse, near Alexanderplatz. It's $25 (€22) and rated 4.5 from 823 reviews, and that rating is what keeps it fourth. Reviewers report big groups and kids of 10 and 12 enjoying it. The monastery ruin in the dark is a good start for any ghost story.

A 2.5-hour round trip on the Spree past the Reichstag and Museum Island, timed for sunset, with a beer garden on deck. Kaiser Friedrich Boattours runs it from the Alte Börse mooring at Burgstrasse 27; board about 10 minutes early. It's $46 (€41) and rated 4.5 from 181 reviews, which is a short record and a middling score. The page contradicts itself on food and drink, listing them as included and also saying you buy them at the bar. Budget for drinks. Not barrier-free.

The splurge. Fork and Walk takes eight people at most on a four-hour evening of neighbourhood restaurants around Südstern in Kreuzberg, with dinner, drinks and tips all included, for $217 (€194). Rated 4.8 from 122 reviews. It's a good evening and a poor hourly price, and that's what sinks it to sixth. Meet at the U7 Südstern entrance (on Saturdays, in front of the Otherland bookstore). Short and smart: 75 to 90 minutes on the Spree from the government quarter with one glass of Crémant or a non-alcoholic sparkling wine. The Reichstag and Museum Island are lit at dusk, which is the point. It's $44 (€39) and rated 4.5 from 620 reviews, so it's seventh, held down by the rating and a high price for one drink. What a Berlin night is actually like
Late. That's the main thing. Bars get going after dinner and the clubs later still, which is why the pub crawl runs six hours.
The night is spread out. Kreuzberg and Neukölln are bars, food and canal-side drinking. Friedrichshain is clubs. Mitte, around the Brandenburg Gate, Unter den Linden and Museum Island, is the lit-up monumental city, and it's quiet after dark apart from people taking pictures of the gate.
The government quarter on the Spree is the bit that looks best at night. The Reichstag dome glows from inside, and the river path by the Paul-Löbe-Haus is where the evening yacht leaves from.
There's no single old quarter where ghost stories happen. That's the gap in Berlin's night tours, and it's not going away.
The free one: the Reichstag dome after dark
The roof terrace and dome of the Reichstag are open to the public, says the Bundestag, and they're the best after-dark viewpoint in the city. It costs nothing. No tour on GetYourGuide or Viator gets you up there; you register with the Bundestag's own Visitors' Service.
How it works, per the Bundestag's booking site:
Requests can only be made for the current month and the next one.
You need every visitor's last name, first name and date of birth ready.
A request isn't a booking. Wait for the confirmation from the Visitors' Service.
The Bundestag also says it can't guarantee your visit. Parliamentary business, events, weather or security can cancel it, sometimes at short notice and without telling you. Have a backup evening.
We couldn't confirm the dome's evening opening hours on the Bundestag's site today, so check them when you book and pick the latest slot offered.
Crawl, walk or boat: how to pick
Want to go out? Book the crawl. Want to understand the district you're going out in? Do the Kreuzberg walk at the start of the evening and stay in Kreuzberg afterwards. Honestly, that's the best Berlin night on this page.
The boats are a season decision. Between April and September the kayak and the beer cruise are lovely, and they're sunset trips, because in June it isn't dark until 10:20 p.m. From November the kayak is a cold, early-dark proposition, and the yacht or the dinner cruise make more sense.
Food? The culinary tour is excellent and pricey. You can do a rough version yourself: walk from Südstern into Bergmannkiez and eat your way along.
Ghosts? Only if you speak German.
Getting back late: BVG at night
Berlin is one of the easiest cities in Europe to get home from at 3 a.m. On weekdays public transport runs roughly from 4 a.m. to 1:30 a.m., and on Friday and Saturday nights it runs 24 hours, according to visitBerlin, the city's tourist board. Night buses carry an N before the route number.
BVG prices a single ticket from $4.50 (€4), valid for two hours in the Berlin fare zones. A short-trip ticket is from $3.10 (€2.80) for three S-Bahn or U-Bahn stops or six on a tram or bus, and a 24-hour ticket from $12.50 (€11.20). Six hours on a pub crawl and a ride home: buy the 24-hour one.
When to go: long June light, cold winter dark
Berlin's summer evenings are very long. In June it's dark at 10:20 p.m., in December at 4:34 p.m. October sits in between, dark by 6:47 p.m. mid-month.
Nights in January fall to about 31°F (-0.8°C) in the pack's weather data, and the data shows 13 rainy days in an average January. July and August nights stay around 59°F (15°C), which is perfect for a canal kayak.
October has the Festival of Lights, when the city's landmarks are lit up from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. In 2026 it ran October 9 to 18, so it's over for this year; the official site doesn't list the 2027 dates yet.
The Christmas boat trips we checked rated below our bar, and the dinner cruise's mulled-wine weeks from 15 November are the only seasonal twist on this page.
What to skip
The night bus tours. The evening open-top bus rated 4.1, the Tour of Lights 4.2 and the Big Bus night tour 3.5. Ride an ordinary city bus through Mitte on a normal ticket instead and look out of the window.
The Alternative Berlin pub crawl on Viator, at 3.9.
And two that looked good but didn't qualify: an illuminated-boats evening tour with only 21 reviews, and a historic pubs tour rated 5.0 from 141 whose page never says what time of day it runs. Ask the operator if it tempts you.
