Night Tours in Las Vegas

#1: Death Valley stars trip, 6.5 Dark by 4:55 p.m. in December 9 tours ranked

Las Vegas is the one city on this site where the night is the main event. So you'd think every tour here would score high on after-dark. Mostly they do.

The problem is the competition. It's free.

You can stand under the Fremont Street canopy for its hourly light show, watch the Bellagio fountains from the sidewalk and ride the Deuce bus along the Strip for a few dollars. A tour has to add something to that, and most of the nine we ranked do it by leaving town: a stargazing stop near Death Valley, a ghost hunt in a mining town out past the edge of the glow, a helicopter over the whole thing.

There's no strong ghost-walk scene here and no night food tour that states an evening start. First place goes to a 12-hour day trip, which says a lot. It rates 4.9 from 660 reviews, and nothing in town comes close.

The top-rated product in the city, 4.9 from 660 reviews, and that rating is what puts it first. MYTOURSTORY picks you up between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. depending on season, spends the day in Death Valley, then stops near Death Valley Junction for stars about 90 minutes after sunset. At $249 (€222) for about 12 hours, it scores low on price per hour, and most of it is daytime. Up to 14 people; park entry and gratuities included. The page lists meals, but a reviewer paid for dinner. Check the moon before you book.

A 4.4 from only 93 reviews drags it to fifth. Some reviewers got 15 to 30 minutes at the museum, not 45. No tripods there. The top deck is cold at night.

It does the Strip, the sign, Downtown and a ride on the High Roller observation wheel, which is included, as are tips. That's a fun mix and it scores top marks on after-dark. A 4.5 from 201 and $131 (€117) a head put it sixth. Reviewers report missed pickups and skipped stops, so confirm your pickup 24 hours ahead. It's windy back there. Kids from 2.

The Strip from the air, lit up. Nothing on the ground looks like that. Maverick has 1,568 reviews at 4.5, and the flight is 10 to 12 minutes, which is the problem: at $100 (€89) the price per hour is off the scale, and the Night Score punishes it. Seventh. Fees, tips and hotel transfers are included. Check in 30 minutes early at 6075 S Las Vegas Boulevard with original photo ID, or you lose the booking with no refund. Seats are assigned at check-in; there's a 300 lb per-seat limit.

The cheapest thing on the list at $35 (€31), and the only real walking ghost tour. Ghost City Tours starts at 9 p.m. at North 3rd Street and Stewart Avenue, opposite the Mob Museum, and walks Downtown past Binion's and the El Cortez for 90 minutes. It's mob history under neon more than haunting. A 4.5 from 110 and groups up to 30 put it eighth. A January 2026 reviewer had it cancelled two hours before the start for low numbers, so have a backup plan.

Vegas Specialty Tours' in-town version of the Goodsprings trip: a small bus, a visit to a so-called motel of death and a former star's home, and a ghost hunt with equipment at the end. $125 (€112) for two and a half hours is steep for what it is, and that's why it's last, despite a 4.6 from 162. What Las Vegas nights are actually like

Two separate nights, really. The Strip is casino resorts end to end, loud, bright and more spread out than it looks; two hotels that seem next door can be a long, hot walk apart. Downtown is older and tighter: Fremont Street, the canopy, Binion's and the El Cortez, with the Mob Museum just north.

Nothing closes. That's the point of the place, and it's why tours here have to work harder.

Then there's the desert, which starts about where the city lights stop. Goodsprings is roughly 25 miles out. Death Valley is a day trip. Those are the only places on our list where you get proper darkness, and they're the two most expensive products on the page.

Lights tour, club crawl, ghost hunt or stars

Stars if you've got a whole day and the moon is thin. Death Valley is the best-rated product in the city by a distance.

Lights tour if you don't want to drive or you're short on time. The 7 p.m. Mania van hits Fremont Street and the Bellagio in one evening. The Pink Jeep is more fun and more expensive. The Big Bus is the one with the Neon Museum in it.

Ghost hunt if you're 18 or over and want the real thing: Goodsprings, not the Strip.

Club crawl if you're 21-plus and the plan is a big night anyway. It handles the covers and the lines.

The helicopter is a 12-minute treat. Lovely. Know what you're paying for.

The free version

Start Downtown. The Viva Vision show on the Fremont Street canopy runs on the hour every night from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., and it's free. Walk the length of the canopy, then up 3rd Street to look at the Mob Museum from outside.

Take the Deuce down to the Strip. Get off near the Bellagio and watch the fountains from the sidewalk railing, then walk south.

The one thing worth paying for in town is the Neon Museum. Its 2026 Evening Admission, nightly from 6 to 11 p.m., starts at $35 (€31), and the old signs are lit after dark. For tickets bought from January 1, 2027, the museum lists a single admission from $21 (€18.80), daily from 3 to 11 p.m. From June to August it opens later, 8 p.m. to midnight, with last entry at 11 p.m.

Honestly, do this first. Then book a tour that leaves town.

Getting back late

Easy. The RTC's Deuce bus runs up and down the Strip and to Downtown 24 hours a day, every day. Its timetable says it comes about every 20 minutes between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. It stops at the Fremont Street Experience, a short walk from where the 9 p.m. ghost walk meets. The club crawl includes hotel transport, so that one's covered.

Fares on the Strip routes: $4 (€3.60) single, $6 (€5.40) for two hours, $8 (€7.10) for 24 hours, $20 (€17.90) for three days. Buy on board and you need the exact amount, so use the rideRTC app.

The out-of-town trips solve this for you. Death Valley and the Pink Jeep return you to your hotel; Goodsprings and the Haunted Vegas bus return you to the Tuscany Suites valet, not your hotel.

Seasons: hot nights, cold desert

Summer nights in the city stay warm. July lows sit around 82°F (28°C). Desert nights are another matter, and in winter the lows in town are near 40°F (4°C). Goodsprings' tour page warns that nights are cold, and the open-top bus and the Pink Jeep get windy whatever the month.

It's dark by 4:55 p.m. in December. In June not until 8:29 p.m., which means the 6:30 p.m. Jeep and the 7 p.m. van start in daylight that time of year. Fine on the Strip, which is lit regardless. Less fine for stargazing, which is a long day either way.

Late October is ghost-walk season here like everywhere else, but the Vegas ghost scene is thin. If you're in town for Halloween, the Goodsprings hunt is the one I'd book.

What's missing and what to skip

A good ghost walk. Ghosts of Las Vegas rated 4.2, and Gangsters, Glitz and Gore 4.0.

The Big Bus night tour without the museum rated 4.2, the Gray Line night coach 3.6, the OnBoard lights tour 4.3 with no price shown, and the Maverick flight with dinner 4.3. The Pioneer Saloon Star Journey rated 3.5 and is non-refundable. No Las Vegas food tour we found states an evening start, so there's no night food tour here.

A stargazing trip into the mountains on GetYourGuide looked promising, but its page wouldn't load and it had only 44 reviews. Skip any lights tour if you're happy to walk and take the Deuce. You'll see the same things.

When it gets dark in Las Vegas

Frequently asked questions

What is the best night tour in Las Vegas?

By our Night Score, the Death Valley day and night tour with stargazing, rated 4.9 from 660 reviews. In town, the 7 p.m. Las Vegas Highlights evening van tour is the best-scored lights tour.

Is the Fremont Street light show free?

Yes. The Viva Vision show on the canopy is free and runs at the top of every hour from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., every night, according to the Fremont Street Experience.

Is the Neon Museum better at night?

The signs are lit after dark, which is why the evening ticket costs more: $35 (€31) in 2026 against $25 (€22) for the 3 to 5 p.m. daytime slot. For tickets bought from January 1, 2027, the museum lists one admission from $21 (€18.80).

Does the Deuce bus run all night in Las Vegas?

Yes. The RTC says the Deuce runs 24 hours a day, every day, roughly every 20 minutes between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. A 24-hour pass is $8 (€7.10).

Can you see stars from Las Vegas?

Not well from the Strip. Our top-ranked tour drives to Death Valley for a stargazing stop about 90 minutes after sunset. A bright moon or cloud spoils it, so check the forecast.
